Cruiser Gear Branding & Apparel Designs
Client: Cruiser Gear
Scope: Logo design, apparel graphics
Back in 2016 I was lucky enough to be asked to come up with a possible new logo concept for Cruiser Gear, a Utah company specializing in FJ Cruiser- and Land Cruiser-themed patches, stickers, apparel, and other accessories. Since then the brand has grown to include all sorts of apparel, flashlights, bags, and more.
Process
The client had a pretty clear idea of what was needed, specifically a hipster-style, monowidth, connected script, so that’s where I started. I came up with a handful of preliminary concept sketches and the front runner was clear!
The final script logo, isolated and outlined:
After some experimentation, I also came up with an expanded badge design that would eventually be used to brand an entire suite of products under the Cruiser Gear name.
The mountain mark I designed in the top section of the badge has been put to good use as well, functioning as a shorthand logo in applications where the full wordmark would be too big.
Recently, Cruiser Gear has grown to include multiple side businesses, and I was able to create unified logos for each of them. To maintain consistency, each new brand element was hand-lettered to conform to the typographic rules I set for myself in the original logo.

Conclusion
It’s been so rewarding to see the brand expand over the past couple years, I can’t wait to see what the future holds. Visit the Cruiser Gear site to see more!
